From the director/writing team of Alejandro González Iñárritu and Guillermo Arriaga, who created Amores Peros and 21 Grams. The film costars Brad Pitt and will follow four stories: American tourist couple (Brad and Cate) frantic struggle to survive, two Moroccan boys involved in an accidental crime, a nanny illegally crossing into Mexico with two American children, and a Japanese teen whose father is sought by the police in Tokyo.
Cate will have a supporting role. Her scenes involve only one of the four major plots.
