This is truly Cate's best work. Cate stars as Queen Elizabeth I and the film traces her raise to the throne. Her character transcends and grows during the film and remains a strong icon throughout. Cate was nominated for an academy award for this role. Elizabeth also stars Geoffrey Rush, Joseph Fiennes, Kathy Burke, and Christopher Eccleston.
